Something that kinda changed my life.

My name is Claire and I’m 10 years old. When we adopted my brother and sister from Ethiopia In 2011, My heart began to swell with love for the orphans in the world. My mom and dad work for a ministry that cares for children who are put into prison for many reasons. They may be hungry and choose to steal a banana, or they may resort to pick pocketing. They could be homeless, or abandoned. Some kids are in these prisons for real crime, but no one is there to represent them in court for long periods of time. When my dad came home from his trip to Uganda he showed me his pictures of these kids and I was totally changed. I began to realize that the world was way bigger than I could imagine.

Inside these prison facilities Sixty Feet is providing for the kids immediate needs: food, clean water, medical care, clothing and bedding. They are trying to build strong relationships with these children through love and friendship and presenting the Gospel message to them. In addition, they are also trying to Improve the facilities themselves through power, water, sanitation, gardening, and building projects. There are some very amazing people who work at Sixty Feet in Uganda, such as nurses, counselors, social workers, teachers, and pastors who care for these children.

Someday, I want to go to Uganda myself and see all of the work that we’re doing with the kids. I want to meet these kids in real life. In the meantime, I’m doing all that I can here to help make a difference in their lives. I ran my first 5k with my mom, on Thanksgiving morning, November 28 2013 and raised $700 for Team Sixty Feet to offer hope and restoration to the imprisoned children of Africa.

This April I'm going to be running again with team Sixty Feet at the Glass City Half Marathon/5K with my dad as my coach!!! I’d love for you to help me reach my goal of $1,000 for this race.

Here is the link you can use to join me in giving to these children. http://www.runsixtyfeet.com/rsf/myrun.php?refid=819840

Please pray for me as I continue to work hard to run and provide hope to some very special kids that desperately need it.
